My rates are negotiable, and depend on the nature of the text to be indexed. However, as a guide I use the current Society of Indexers' recommended basic rate (see http://www.indexers.org.uk/index.php?id=135) for an index to a straightforward text.
I charge an additional negotiable fee (dependent on the nature of the task) if proofreading is also required.
